watched kubrador (the bet collector) last saturday with the family. gina pareño had a stellar performance! she was beyond superb. it’s as if she wasn’t acting but you can feel that there are a lot emotions bottled up inside her. she tries to survive her everyday life and woes which gives her no time to worry about the big things like the death of her son and taking care of herself. and the story line and direction, wow! i was also happy to see soliman cruz & neil ryan sese (from the equally superb and multi-awarded film, ang pagdadalaga ni maximo oliveros) doing cameo roles. you should find time to watch kubrador because it’s one pinoy film worth seeing.
speaking of “maxi”, unitel will be showing the film again starting on sept. 20. it’s re-mastered in 35mm film. if you failed to catch it the first time around, this is the right time to go see it. it is definitely worth your money. we are so addicted to this film that we are going to watch it again. can’t wait to see ping medina in the big screen again. hehehe.
im starting to get my rewards for dieting. i bought my first pair of skinny jeans last sunday from bayo. hooray! and i’m a size 1 (small)! yeay! it feels sooo good to reach my ideal weight again. the only problem now is maintaining it till my good friend’s wedding in october. my motivation for that is the über sexy bridesmaid dress i’m going to wear. hehehe. thanks to him for the constant motivation & discipline he gives me. love you for that. mwah!
i saw the teen choice 2006 awards at studio 23 last night. nelly furtado has really made a major transformation. whoa! you wouldn’t believe that she is the same gal who sang “i’m like a bird who only flies away…” a few years back. she looks HOT! and I totally dig her new her song “promiscuous.”
and what was all the fuss about kevin federline???!! i mean yeah he could rap but it’s nothing like seeing snoop dogg or even sean paul perform. i kinda expected a lot from his performance considering all the buzz of his debut performance. it wasn’t half bad but his rapping and song lacked the “umpf!” thing. you know what I mean when you like hiphop and r&b music. for me, he will just always be MR. britney spears.
johnny depp is sizzling hot! i could perfectly understand why all those teens kept shrieking and screaming last night that you can’t hear johnny depp’s speech for winning in the best actor category. i would be screaming my lungs out too if i saw him in person looking like that. :D
