dear crush,

i don’t know you personally but i would pretend that i do just this once. don’t be too hard on yourself. you're so transparent that it shows you are frustrated. (but you still look so cute even if frustration is written all over your face. hehehe).

i know for a player who has a shooter mentality like you, it is hard to fathom when you average 17 to 18 pts a game and suddenly drop to 4-6 points in the last two games. that’s really a bummer considering that you want your team to win. and losing a game can be an excruciating experience considering that you were from a championship team in the juniors division.

the last two games have been a learning experience for you. you weren’t able to get good looks at the basket. and the opponents really made sure that you were guarded tightly. i think coach should create plays particularly for you to make those shots. probably more screens and moving more without the ball. it wouldn’t hurt too if you practice more so you can be a better player as time passes by.

again, please don’t be too pressured of shooting that three. the more pressure you give yourself, the more prone you are to committing unnecessary mistakes on the court (just what happened in your game yesterday). just give it your best and the rest will follow, i guess. before you know it you are back in the game.

and look at it this way, these teams have guarded you so tightly because you are one scoring machine from the beyond the arc. they know you can shoot the lights out given the opportunity. you are a threat to them even if you’re the new kid on the block. you are simply the bomb!

what matters is you have been given the license to shoot. coach believes in you so much that the he will continue to let you shoot until you get your rhythm/groove back. and what matters is you still have everyone (especially me) supporting and cheering you on be it a good or bad day.

relax, enjoy and don’t be too hard on yourself. give yourself a break. it’s only your first playing year. and i believe that in a few years time, you and the rest of the new recruits will give the school the most coveted championship. i am so looking forward to that day.

on a side note, in case your career doesn’t really take off, you have a UP diploma to boast of. hahahaha. BUT it is impossible for your basketball career not to take off.

love,
jen
